Restaurant Upholstery Case Study

Queen Nzinga Restaurant

Location: 709 S King St, Seattle, WA 98104
End Client: Queen Nzinga Restaurant
Completion: January 2026

Named after Queen Nzinga, the historic 17th-century leader of Ndongo and Matamba, this restaurant brings Ethiopian-inspired fusion cuisine to Seattle in a space rooted in cultural significance, warmth, and community.

The restaurant was preparing for a new opening on a compressed timeline and needed dining booths that could be delivered quickly without sacrificing quality or design intent. QA Group provided a fast, reliable solution using our Cascade Collection, our best-selling predesigned restaurant booth line. The Cascade Collection offers the durability and craftsmanship of commercial seating with shorter lead times and a more approachable price point compared to fully custom builds.

Upon their initial inquiry, the owners were invited to QA Group’s Seattle showroom. There, they were able to sit in multiple booth styles and collections, compare foam seating versus spring seating, and experience our seating options firsthand. This in-person process allowed them to confidently select the final booth configuration and a warm brown vinyl that coordinated with the restaurant’s wallpaper and interior finishes. Having both the showroom and production facility local to Seattle gave the owners added assurance and visibility into how their seating would be built.

Once selections were confirmed, a QA Group representative visited the downtown Seattle location to review the space firsthand. Field measurements were taken, and a complete seating layout was developed to support circulation, capacity, and day-to-day service needs. This complimentary layout planning is a standard benefit of working directly with QA Group and helps clients avoid the limitations often associated with purchasing restaurant seating online!

The final installation included a mix of single-sided and double-sided Cascade dining booths, each measuring 60″ long x 42″ tall x 24″ deep, fully upholstered and delivered on an accelerated timeline. The booths integrated seamlessly into the space and were installed in time to support the restaurant’s opening.

The project highlights how QA Group’s predesigned collections can deliver speed, value, and design confidence, while still providing hands-on guidance, local support, and a finished result that feels intentional rather than off-the-shelf.

Following installation, both ownership and staff shared positive feedback on the look, comfort, and overall presence of the booths within the restaurant. The project reflects QA Group’s ability to support new restaurant openings with speed, collaborative design guidance, and seating solutions that feel considered rather than rushed.
