JaK’s Grill, a West Seattle favorite, relocated mid-2025 to a new space just down the street from its original home. The move allowed for a complete refresh of the restaurant’s atmosphere, replacing a dated, choppy layout with a warm design that blends open flow and cozy intimacy. QA Group partnered with the client directly to create custom seating that defined the new environment.
The scope featured a wide mix of booths and banquettes. Sweeping 3/4 corners in the back offered private, romantic settings, while compact singles and doubles established the standard layout. Along one wall, a dramatic tufted banquette paired with tables and chairs added a bold focal point across from the bar. Together, these seating types balanced function and design for all guest experiences.
Custom details completed the vision. A J-shaped backless bench provided welcoming lobby seating, while upholstered bar rails wrapped seamlessly around the wood tabletop for a polished look. Rich brown leathers and vinyls, paired with moody lighting and natural materials, tied the design together with a timeless, sophisticated feel.
One challenge arose after installation: corners of the U-shaped banquettes felt less supportive than expected. QA Group resolved this by adding springs for extra firmness and returned at no cost to revise the seating. Complimentary table bases were also provided as a goodwill gesture. “It’s a big balance of open concept and private cozy feel,” noted Cayce, Facilities Director at 509 Hospitality. “QA Group made sure everything was right, and the finished look is outstanding.”
Now thriving in its upgraded location, JaK’s Grill has been embraced by locals who appreciate the improved flow, elevated seating, and refreshed atmosphere. The project highlights QA Group’s commitment to craftsmanship, problem-solving, and lasting client satisfaction.
