Somm Hotel is a boutique destination at the heart of Woodinville’s wine country, designed to give guests refined spaces that balance relaxation and connection. QA Group was brought on to craft a series of custom banquettes and cushions for the lobby, main dining room, and rooftop indoor lounge. Working in partnership with Frontier Door & Cabinet, our team engineered and fabricated seating that blends comfort, durability, and design presence while reinforcing the property’s distinct character.

The scope was as ambitious as it was diverse. In the lobby, a veneered U-shaped banquette with integrated end tables creates a welcoming centerpiece, paired with saddle-toned loose cushions that invite guests to settle in. The main dining room is anchored by long banquettes finished with elegant waterfall seat and back cushions, complemented by a series of curved booths with integrated planters that weave greenery directly into the seating. On the rooftop, two distinctive banquettes wrapped in bold plaid textiles and accented with sleek aluminum detailing give the lounge a tailored, contemporary edge. Together, these pieces form a cohesive collection of fully custom seating that defines the hotel’s social zones with both comfort and style.

Each piece was upholstered in carefully selected performance fabrics and leathers, chosen for both durability and visual impact. Veneer and accent finishes ranged from a custom teal color match in the lobby (designed to tie directly to the cabinetry feature above the seating) to a mix of red oak, white oak, and aluminum elements in the dining and rooftop spaces. A custom stain match ensured finishes integrated seamlessly with surrounding millwork, while horizontal veneer grain direction was used throughout to maintain design continuity.

To align precisely with the design team’s vision, QA Group developed renderings for approval and produced detailed CNC shop drawings prior to fabrication. Special attention was also given to comfort. In the lobby, QA Group coordinated a sit test with the client, reviewing three different cushion fills to select the perfect balance of support and softness. This hands-on process helped ensure the seating not only looked right but felt right! All units were built in modular sections for ease of transport, then crated and shipped field-ready for seamless installation. The result is a polished, cohesive experience across the property that captures the spirit of modern hospitality in Woodinville’s wine country.
