Copper & Salt Northwest Kitchen, located inside the Silver Cloud Hotel Tacoma at Point Ruston, offers a refined yet approachable dining experience with sweeping waterfront views. As the signature restaurant for this flagship hotel, the design called for interiors that balance warmth, sophistication, and durability, creating a welcoming space for both daily dining and special occasions.
QA Group was engaged to fabricate the restaurant’s custom booth seating and statement wall panels, integral features that define the dining atmosphere. Working from McVey’s vision, our team engineered and upholstered a collection of single, double, and U-shaped booths, along with an expansive banquette and upholstered wall panels. Each piece was tailored with precise detailing – from vertical channel backs to tapered high-back profiles – ensuring visual consistency throughout the space.
A focal point of the project is the striking upholstered wall panel installation, finished in a bold copper-toned textile. The panels provide both acoustic performance and dramatic visual impact, anchoring the restaurant with a warm, Northwest-inspired palette. Alongside, the banquette and booth seating feature premium fabrics paired with solid beech bases stained in espresso black, marrying durability with elevated design.
This was a highly detailed scope, with multiple furniture types requiring careful alignment to architectural elements, including radius curves and integrated filler panels. QA Group coordinated closely with both the client and designer to prototype and refine details, ensuring the furniture arrived field-ready for seamless installation.
Since opening years ago, the seating has held up to the demands of high-volume service while maintaining its crisp, tailored aesthetic. Our sister company, Queen Anne Upholstery, continues to service Silver Cloud Hotel properties through maintenance and reupholstery of dining chairs and other seating elements, a testament to our long-term client partnership and commitment to lifecycle care.
The result is a timeless, polished environment where guests can enjoy Pacific Northwest cuisine against the backdrop of thoughtful, enduring craftsmanship!
