Spokane Tribe Casino

Location: 14300 W SR-2 Hwy, Airway Heights, Washington 99001
End Client: Spokane Tribe Casino
Architect: Cuningham Group Architecture

Since its opening in 2018, Spokane Tribe Casino has grown into a landmark destination, steadily expanding its footprint with new gaming, dining, and hospitality spaces. Each phase has been designed to raise the level of guest experience while honoring the Tribe’s vision of creating a property rooted in both tradition and modern hospitality.

For the most recent expansion, QA Group partnered with Candela Construction to deliver two signature elements that define the atmosphere of the new spaces: a dramatic button-tufted statement upholstered wall panel and a collection of custom curved booths. Both were designed to work in harmony, bringing equal parts artistry and functionality to the casino interior.

The statement wall panel serves as an upholstered art installation that anchors the lounge and dining area. Its bold tufting and rich texture add depth and warmth, transforming a simple partition into a striking focal point. Beyond aesthetics, the wall creates an intimate backdrop that elevates the mood of the space and leaves a memorable impression on guests. Crafted by hand at our Kent, WA facility, this feature became a true labor of teamwork… every tuft was manually set by our artisans, with the team working late hours to ensure it was finished on time. The result is not only a striking design element, but also a reflection of the dedication and care that went into meeting the client’s schedule without compromise.

Complementing the wall, QA Group fabricated curved custom booths that provide both comfort and structure. Their sweeping forms guide circulation through high-traffic areas while carving out inviting zones for gathering. Built with commercial-grade durability and upholstered for long-lasting comfort, the booths balance practicality with refined design, supporting the casino’s goal of creating spaces that are as functional as they are visually compelling.

Both features were developed with precision: QA Group provided renderings to align with the design intent, fabricated each element in sections, and shipped them field-ready for efficient installation. This process ensured the project stayed on schedule while meeting the high expectations of the Spokane Tribe Casino ownership team. As Joseph Martin, COO of Candela Construction, shared: “The project turned out very nice, and the owner is quite happy with the results.”

The finished result is an interior that feels cohesive, elevated, and built to last. The button-tufted upholstered wall panel stands as a bold statement piece, while the curved booth seating brings comfort and flow to the environment. Together, they showcase how thoughtful design and craftsmanship can transform a hospitality space into a true destination.
