The West Main project in Bellevue was a landmark undertaking for QA Group – spanning multiple levels and requiring hundreds of custom upholstered seating elements for one of the city’s largest office campuses. Designed for Amazon’s workforce, the interiors needed seating and panels that could withstand heavy daily use while elevating the building beyond a workplace into a true community hub.

QA Group partnered with Interior Woodworking Specialists (IWS) to deliver an ambitious scope that included acoustic wall and soffit panels, upholstered seat and back cushions across extensive café runs, and complete booth and banquette structures. From communal café seating to prefunction gathering areas, each element was tailored to complement the architectural flow and massive scale of the building.

The project was not without challenges. Working against an incredibly tight deadline, QA Group coordinated multiple releases simultaneously to upholster hundreds of pieces across more than 500 linear feet of seating and panels. Pattern matching was a particular hurdle, and although the agreement only required “best ability,” our team went further – reupholstering sections at no cost when the client requested improved alignment of plaid patterns. A handful of cushions also arrived slightly oversized, but these were quickly taken back, cut down, and reupholstered to keep installation on track and the client relationship strong.

This job also marked a breakthrough in process efficiency. We used pre-cut custom foam for the first time at this scale, saving significant time without compromising quality. That innovation has since become a go-to process for complex, high-volume projects.

When complete, the transformation was striking. The upholstered elements softened the modern architecture, improved acoustics, and created warm, inviting spaces where employees gather daily. The scale, speed, and precision of execution made West Main Towers a milestone project for QA Group, and a favorite among our team!
